“Uku is an integral part of the job, and I can’t even imagine working with our old software, Excel or even worse – paper time tracking.”
Lilita Beķere
SIA Numeri’s CEO
SIA Numeri is a medium-sized Latvian company that specializes in accounting outsourcing. It offers payroll, tax advice, and many other services for its clients.
SIA Numeri is the subsidiary of Estonian Uku’s client, Numeri OÜ.
We talked to Lilita Beķere, SIA Numeri’s CEO and Lonija Grīnfelde, the marketing specialist at SIA Numeri.

Life used to be more challenging for SIA Numeri than it is now. Lilita recalls: “The previous software we used required manual input and was not precise. We could only insert time from a drop-down menu with hours and minutes, and you could only choose minute options for every 5 minutes. There were very few filters available for reporting exports. Employees would rather use Excel and sticky notes than the software.”
"Uku helps accountants plan their tasks much better than the previous software."
The CEO adds, “By creating regular work tasks, accountants no longer need to worry about what needs to be done on which day. In cases of accountant rotation, it is easier to take over a client if they have a profile and a plan set up in Uku. It also helps company management analyze the accountants’ work and profitability and client profitability.”
Matching the needs of a certain group when creating products is essential. This is why Uku is made in collaboration with working accountants. The features match the exact needs of accounting firms.

Lilita Beķere says: “After seeing how Uku works and realizing that it is a tool that makes accountants’ daily tasks easier, we decided to switch to Uku quite quickly. Our parent company in Estonia was already using Uku, so we knew that it was a good tool for accountants.”
SIA Numeri decided to implement Uku when its parent company, Numeri OÜ, shared its success story with the accounting practice management software. Thanks to Uku, Numeri’s accountants across the Baltics improved their time management and started using workflows.
“We wanted to have a better overview of employees’ workload. Knowing our accountants’ workload helps identify if their workload is full or if they can take on more clients,” says Lonija Grīnfelde.
“Knowing your employees' workload helps see the client's profitability and opportunities for raising prices.”

They have been using Uku for three years and find help in various areas. Lonija Grīnfelde lists the features they like best at SIA Numeri: “We use Uku for CRM in client onboarding, client life cycle within and client offboarding. Uku also helps us with ERP. The most important resource and asset are our employees, and Uku lets us see the workload of our accountants and plan for future projects.”
Lilita Beķere adds, “Our employees are our value. The more satisfied the employees are, the more satisfied the clients.”
"Uku is great for planning, keeping track of tasks, and managing time in one place."
SIA Numeri also enjoys Uku’s task management feature. “We use the snooze option to move tasks forward in the calendar. Our employees also love Uku as their virtual planner, reminding them about tasks,” states Lonija.
The bookkeepers at SIA Numeri especially like Uku’s dashboard because tasks are static throughout the month and appear on their desks daily.
How can software simplify accounting?
How can software simplify accounting?
Uku simplifies SIA Numeri’s work in many ways. One is remembering the input text for previous tasks for a client and helping employees generate them automatically. Lilita Beķere says: “We can now keep track of all information relevant to the client in one place.”
SIA Numeri’s management team describes Uku as a one-stop-shop where they keep all their information—task plans, client overviews, notes, and attachments. They also find Uku’s reporting feature important. Uku’s business analytics reports help managers prevent or find bottlenecks.
Another thing Uku does automatically is remember when your last task ended and suggest the end time previous the last task as the start time for the next task.
“Uku helps in planning tasks and also helps accountants meet deadlines.”

SIA Numeri collected feedback from their accountants. Here are the reasons why they are happy with the accounting practice management software.
“The software sends a summary of the work done in the previous week on Monday.” They also loved adding multiple users for the same task to boost the cooperation between head accountants, accountants and junior accountants. Some extra features they’ve enjoyed are check-lists, magic buttons, filters and bulk actions.
"Uku is intuitive and requires very little manual input."
Accountants mentoring junior accountants value the cooperation that Uku offers. Mentors have an overview of the tasks their junior does and have the opportunity to add comments, notes and mark tasks as done.
The management finds locking time entries on Sundays important because it adds more credibility.
SIA Numeri’s data analyst values Uku’s task checklists, where accountants can track time for smaller tasks like “Sick leaves”, “Payslips”, etc. under one main task, for example, “Payroll”.
Having an overview of the actual workload is crucial for success
Having an overview of the actual workload is crucial for success
The most significant long-term benefit of Uku is seeing the actual workload a client requires, and SIA Numeri has seen the benefit themselves. Lilita says: “When potential clients approach us for services and claim the workload will be insignificant. Usually, when starting to work with a client, it turns out to be more. After a testing period, we use Uku to see whether the price we have set is adequate or if adjustments are in order.”
SIA Numeri’s human resources department uses Uku to have an overview of employee workload capacity. It helps them prevent potential burnout and work-life imbalance. Since employees are the most valued part of SIA Numeri, they prioritize the well-being of bookkeepers the most and can value a software that makes having an overview easier.
Lilita Beķere, what would you say to those who don’t use Uku yet? “A quote from an employee resonated with us. She said:
"Uku is an integral part of the job, and I can't even imagine working with our old software, Excel or even worse - paper time tracking."
