Most of the 2026 European accounting calendar has already been and gone. This page tracks the seven must-visit accounting conferences in Europe — what is still ahead this year, which 2027 editions have confirmed dates, and which organisers have not announced anything yet. One 2026 event remains: Accounting Summit, 16–17 September 2026, Düsseldorf. Everything else on this list has taken place.

Confirmed 2027 dates

Not yet announced at the time of writing: AMIS 2027 and the FMA European Conference 2027. Xerocon is not returning to London in 2027 — after London and Denver in 2026, Xero has indicated the 2027 event moves to Australia, with no city or dates published yet.

European Accounting Review Annual Conference (2027)

European Accounting Association’s 49th Annual Congress (EAA Congress 2027)

The 2027 congress is the association’s 50th-anniversary edition — the EAA was founded in 1977 — which usually means a larger programme and heavier competition for accommodation. Book early if you plan to attend.

The EAA Annual Congress invites finance and accounting professionals to a different European host city each year — Prague hosted the 48th congress in May 2026, and Turin takes the 49th. It is a cornerstone event for scientific and educational exchange.

The seven events split into two groups, and picking the wrong group is the most common way to waste a travel budget.

Academic conferences — EAR, the EAA Congress, AMIS and the FMA European Conference — are scholarly forums. Attendance often runs through paper submission rather than open registration, and the value is in research, methodology and peer feedback.
